Hoping for a clear night on Friday, then will get scopes out at the hall. Mars should be high enough by around midnight, also get a look at lunar eclipse, and Jupiter and Saturn will be in view. Will set up from about 9PM, so anyone interested please roll up. Feel free to bring a scope along if you want, but will hopefully have 4 scopes set up.

Yes indeed, I saw it this evening but very low down, nevertheless, it subtends a decent size disc even in a pair of 8X40 binoculars.

Did a "Jim" last night - through the window astronomy.
Saturn was nicely visible through the big binoculars - the rings were visible but the shrubbery in the garden is leaping up atm so had to wait till gone 11.p.m. for it to clear the apple tree.
Same problem with Mars - very low. can't see it from here until around 1 a.m. but it is a beacon and brighter than Jupiter!!
Forecast not good for Friday night but that has been known to change.
