Our yearly solar gazing event will be held in the car park at Newgale beach on 3rd August, weather permitting of course.

If weather is ok, will pick up telescopes and banner etc from the container and arrive at Newgale about 1pm.

Not looking good for Newgale today. 100% cloud cover at the moment and rain forecast for midday. Will post again at midday with a go or no go.

Cleared off now and sun is shining so will declare it a go. Going to pick up scopes now and will be at Newgale by 1pm.

I had everything ready in the car but as it got really cloudy and spots of rain decided not to bother. In fact as I type this at 1615 the sun has decided to pop out albeit through a gap in the clouds.

A few of us arrived at Newgale and gave it a go, but the weather wasn't very co operative, though we did manage a few glimpses of a featureless sun. We did see a bit of interest from the public, a couple of who we will likely see at meetings in the near future. If anyone has the inclination, they could try again next Saturday if weather permits, but I will not be able to attend, so if you want scopes from the container you will have to fetch them. Just let me know the night before so I can arrange for the container to be opened.
