Made a trolley for the 12 inch scope, and will reassemble scope tomorrow when the paint dries. Weather currently looking hopeful for tomorrow night, so keep your eye out for a text. A piece of aluminium plate about a metre square would be handy for a ramp into the container, so if anyone has a piece spare to donate it will come in handy.

Sky is mostly clear and telescopes set up, so turn up at Letterston hall if you can.

Before we have any more viewing nights some sort of ramp is needed into the container or scopes are liable to tip over and get damaged, especially with one person on their own. Trolley works great on the flat, but not much good at climbing up a step. Will need a ramp a metre wide at least, by 1.5 metres long. A wooden ramp would do, but probably will rot away fairly quickly. Does anyone have any material or the expertise to make one?

We ought to price up a sheet of decent alloy, shouldn't be too much. Like the stuff they use on lorry ramps with the grip pattern on it. I don't know of a local supplier though, anyone else?

Maybe Dyfed steel in Thornton stocks it, priced it up on ebay at about £70 but comes in 4 sheets. Found some treated boards and have made a wooden ramp for now.

Any advance on the metal Ricg? Not that it looks like we'll be needing it for the foreseeable future. Could double up as a ski slope perhaps

Wooden ramp fits inside the container without taking up too much room, so if it can stay in there when not in use it will stop it rotting away. Should therefor be a more permanent solution than we thought.
