Our "Hire" telescope - the Tasco 114 mm is up for grabs. It is a useful beginner's 'scope with 2/3 eyepieces and a Barlow. (No instruction book or Moonmap as some advertisements mention). Take a look at our website for more details: preseliastronomygroup.org.uk/tasco.htmlLooking for around £30 but may well go cheaper, so send your interest to: info@preseliastronomygroup.org.uk

Rob, who donated this, is happy for this to go for FREE. But I'm sure you would be happy to give a small donation to our funds !!
I'll give it a week and if no interest then I'll put it on eBay.

Hi Mark
We still have it - in our container at Letterston.
I "nearly" put it on ebay this week but decided the aggravation of listing and posting wasn't worth the return.
I've read good reports on these - but it's important to get a red dot finder and some decent eyepieces!! We used it at St Brides last year with the dinky viewfinder and eyepieces provided and it was hard work.
Collect it at our next meeting, if you can. Richard or Phil are usually there early to get the projector screen out.
Trust you and Helen are well and we look forward to seeing you in April.

Hi Mike, yes both well here, hope you and Sue are likewise well... I'll definitely have that little scope, Like you say the most difficult task with small scopes is actually locating the object. Those tiny finderscopes are usually stopped down.... and often have plastic lenses.... aaaggghh!! I'll be over for the meeting in April, it will be good to catch up. See you soon..... I'll bring some biscuits Thanks Mike...

Haha.. Hi Jim... one day Helen will have to bring the "Sandwich" van around to a meeting...
That PAG stargazing "Live" night with the sandwiches was a good evening, loads of people enjoyed it..
Maybe we could organize another "Sandwiches & Stars" evening, sometime around Christmas..... or sooner!
No astronomy tonight, raining kittens and puppies up here.. :-)

Yes, unfortunately the weather has not been very conducive to outdoor activities of late. a few good moments now and then with some clear sky usually at the most inopportune times, well for me anyway. ps cheese & pickle fine for me

Cheese and pickle it is... and the same for me.. Weather conditions much the same here these past few months Jim. Haven't taken the big Dobsonian out all winter! I'm looking forward to observing Mars in July/August... at least July (hopefully) will be warm and less cloudy.. fingers crossed..
