Strong winds today seem to have cleared the air as seeing is very good tonight. Spent half an hour with 12x40 binoculars earlier. Easily picked out the Coathanger asterism, and am sure I picked out a hint of the Ring nebula. Also saw M31, and for the first time, managed to pick out M33. Pity we don't get more nights like this on weekends.

Yes it looked like it would be clear tonight and apart from some high thin cloud it was . Summer triangle very evident and mars could actually be seen over the neighbouring buildings These conditions tend to produce steady seeing.

Loads of cloud here,popped out several times tonight as weather forecast was good but only got a few gaps even now at 01.00 have only got a small patch of clearish sky to the East, may have a look a bit later when Orion is up and try for comet 21 whatitsname with the 70 mm for half an hour or so.
