A 2nd clear night in 3 days - but that could be it for a while now.
The Moon is a big obstacle to viewing but we did manage to see the open cluster IC4665 in Ophiuchus. Like most clusters it looked better in binoculars than in the Dob. Hercules was just round the corner so M13 had to be looked at - the seeing was not so good as it only showed as a fuzzy blob - disappointing considering its pedigree.
The main target was to be asteroid 7 Iris in Aries. Aries itself was easily found but the asteroid (?) - well we might have seen it. Ideally we would need to check back later to find the star that "moved".
Uranus was also close by but our eastern views are hampered by lights and trees - has anyone seen it or Iris?
