Here's another couple of pics taken on the 6th January with the 70mm refractor. The star cluster picture shows M38 in Auriga- the large cluster near the middle of the image. The nice thing about wide field imaging is the other objects that show up unexpectedly as well. I set out to image M38, but also got NGC1907 ( small cluster to the right), the nebula IC417 (further to the right). Also if you look closely the brighter star towards the bottom right you can see a bit of red nebulosity around it. This is NGC1931. These nebula are part of a much lager network of nebula that that show up in much longer exposures.

Very nice images Dale, the Horsehead one certainly demonstrates why it is such a challenging object to view, the Flame next to it is hard enough to see visually, the HH is so much fainter.
