Typical...! I moan about the Pembrokeshire weather..and now I'm moaning about the weather on a completely different planet.. The poor old Martian surface is once again obscured! Lets hope the storms calm down before the opposition next month. I would like to draw a few sketches before the red planet fades. Here's my last attempt, from June 4th.

Typical sandy Last night the moon was visible but covered with hazy cloud. I still remember taking a pic of the moon for every day of the lunation. It took me over a year and of course lost ALL my slides later.

So many things lost Mark but I found one of my OLD log books, even got a 'Sketch' of mars in it from 1986. What surprised me when skimming through it was the ridiculous observing times I used to do. 4am as have to be at work for 5am. Strangely though it looks like some of the log is missing either that or I had another book which I can't find. Much of the observing was done with 7 x 50 binoculars or a 3" refractor belonging to the Ewell Astronomical Society of which I was a member back then.
