A clear night and my attention turned to the double double that I have often mentioned but never seen. The star is easily found and binoculars comfortably show it to be a double but apparently x200 is required to reveal the double double.
Now that Autumn is here (oh yes it is) - it is on my target list!
Anyone seen it?

Maybe I just have keen eyesight however I will check what eyepiece I use next time I look. It was reasonably clear although some hazy cloud around. Had a look out at 0525 this morning and our old friend Orion was back in evidence which means winter not too far away. hopefully tonight should be ok. Pity the weather was against us on Tuesday as I had taken the Tal1 and I think there would have been a queue if the 12" was out.

Several times, the pair are easy enough to split, but decent seeing is required,
